Taking It to the Top

Thirty-five Indiana University School of Medicine physicians are among those listed in the 2003 issue of America’s Top Doctors. The popular publication recognizes forty-seven Indiana physicians, seventy-five percent of whom are faculty at the state’s only medical school.

IUSM faculty practice at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University Hospital, Methodist Hospital, the Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Hospital, Larue Carter Memorial Hospital,
Wishard Memorial Hospital and at clinics in various locations in central Indiana.

The list of physicians is based on nominations by their peers and an extensive survey process. The publication focuses only on the top one percent of specialists and subspecialists across the United States. Less than one percent of U.S. hospitals have more than one doctor listed in the guide. It is published by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. and is a recognized source for finding the nation’s top specialists.
