Library Director Joins Informatics College
Julie McGowan, PhD, MLS, associate dean for information services
and education technology, is one of the newest fellows elected into
the American College of Medical Informatics, which recognizes those
who have made significant and sustained contributions in the medical
informatics field.
Dr. McGowan, director of the Ruth Lilly Medical Library and professor
of knowledge informatics and of pediatrics, was inducted into the
college late last year. Her research interests include computers
in medical education, telemedicine and medical informatics.
She joins three other IUSM faculty members in the college, including
Clement McDonald, MD, IU distinguished professor; William Tierney,
MD, professor of medicine; and Marc Overage, MD, PhD, associate
professor of medicine.
