Neurology Program Expands Offerings In New Outpatient Center

Convenience for the patient is just one of the reasons the IU Department of Neurology has consolidated its clinical operations in the new Mark L. Dyken, MD, Neurology Outpatient Center. Conforming with a growing trend, the consolidation promotes communication and consultation among the neurologists and their IU colleagues.

"It is important patients feel comfortable with their care," said Jose' Biller, MD, professor and chairman of the Department of Neurology. "The combination of subspecialty neurology programs will give patients easier access and state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment."

The Mark L. Dyken, MD, Neurology Outpatient Center, located on the first floor of Indiana University Hospital, was dedicated in August. It was named in honor of Dr. Dyken '54 who served as chairman of the IU Department of Neurology for 23 years, retiring in 1994.

The center will serve as a comprehensive treatment center for the gamut of neurological diseases and disorders. Specialty clinics include everything from the recently initiated stroke program for both adults and children to the headache, pain and multiple sclerosis clinics which have been augmented with new faculty.
