Acting Directors Named At Northwest and Lafayette Centers

William Baldwin, PhD '74, has been named acting director of the Northwest Cente for Medical Education in Gary. He succeeds Panayotis Iatridis, MD, DSc, who retired as director December 31. (Dr. Iatridis was featured in Indiana University Medicine Spring 1998.) Dr. Baldwin is the course director for medical microbiology and immunology and for biostatistics. He helped establish a clinical virology laboratory at the Northwest Center, where he has served on the faculty since 1973.

Gordon Coppoc, DVM, PhD, has been appointed acting director of the Lafayette Center for Medical Education. He succeeds Lindley Wagner, MD '59, who retired March 31. (Please see next page.) Dr. Coppoc has been an adjunct professor of pharmacology at the Lafayette Center since 1982 and a professor of veterinary pharmacology at Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine since 1977. More recently, Dr. Coppoc has served as chairman of the Department of Basic Medical Science and director of the Veterinary Information System at the School of Veterinary Medicine.
