New Directors Named At Northwest & Lafayette Centers For Medical Education
Center directors for the Northwest Center for Medical Education in Gary and the Lafayette Center for Medical Education have been confirmed by the IU Trustees. William Baldwin, PhD '74, takes over the reins from Panayotis Iatridis, MD, DSc, who retired as center director on December 31, 1997. Dr. Baldwin has been course director for medical microbiology and immunology and for biostatistics during his tenure since 1973.
Gordon Coppoc, DVM, PhD, has succeeded Lindley Wagner, MD '59, who retired March 31, 1998. Dr. Coppoc has been an adjunct professor of pharmacology at the Lafayette Center since 1982 and a professor of veterinary pharmacology at Purdue University's School of Veterinary Medicine since 1977. More recently, Dr. Coppoc has served as chairman of the Department of Basic Medical Science and director of the Veterinary Information System at Purdue.
