Child Safety Advocates Sought For Awards ProgramINDIANAPOLIS - Do you know a person or an organization in Indiana who goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide programs that prevent children's injuries and deaths? If so, they might be candidates for the 2001 Child Safety Advocate Awards. "These awards are presented to those who have a strong commitment to children's safety and actively promote safety issues and injury prevention in their communities or through their line of work," says Keisha Nickolson, coordinator of Indiana SAFE KIDS at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Nomination categories include individual, government, business, SAFE KIDS local chapter or coalition, community agency, law enforcement, media and health care. The awards will be presented May 7 and coincide with the National SAFE KIDS Week event in Washington, D.C. Nomination forms can be obtained by contacting Keisha Nickolson at 317-278-3218, or toll free at 888-832-3219. Nominations must be received by March 2. The Indiana SAFE KIDS Coalition, housed at the Indiana University School of Medicine, is part of the National SAFE KIDS Campaign. The campaign is the first and only national organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injuries, the number one killer of children ages 14 and under. ### Media Contact: Joe Stuteville
