Link Between Gestational Diabetes And Adult Onset Diabetes StrengthenedINDIANAPOLIS -- Every year over 100,000 women in the United States develop diabetes during pregnancy. Called gestational diabetes mellitus, it is usually diagnosed by a screening for high blood sugar between the 24th and 28th weeks of pregnancy. Co-authors of the paper were Chunfu Qui, Ph.D.; Barbara Amerman, M.S., R.D.; Beverly Porter M.S.N.; Naomi Fineberg, Ph.D.; Saleh Aldasouqi, M.D., and Alan Golichowski, M.D., all of the Indiana University School of Medicine.
