This Week on Sound Medicine

INDIANAPOLIS — This weekend, Oct. 24 and 25, Sound Medicine host Barbara Lewis and guests will discuss H1N1 virus and hospitals, medical records and patients and the Rorschach Inkblot Test.

The program:

Douglas Webb, M.D., an epidemiologist and director of Infection Control at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, will discuss hospital response to the H1N1 flu virus outbreak.

Tom Delbanco, M.D., professor of general medicine and primary care at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, will explain his recent study where he allows patients to read notes placed in their medical records by their doctors.

Sound Medicine reporter Colleen Iudice will profile an African-American woman who is HIV-positive.

Sound Medicine co-host Stephen Bogdewic, Ph.D., executive associate dean for faculty affairs and professional development and associate chair of family medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine, will discuss reactions to the most common answers of the Rorschach Inkblot Test being posted on Wikipedia by a doctor.

In this week’s Sound Medicine “Checkup,” Jeremy Shere, Ph.D., will explore the acai berry.
